Use your Computer as an alarm clock
Schedule Task as an alarm clock
Bare with me if this is to long this tutorial intended for all users beginners to experts so if it goes a little slow feel free to skim through
what you need:
-Micorsoft XP or Vista
-Your Computer Running and Logged On
-A music file; mp3, mp4, whatever you have that you want to use
-A music player such as windows media player or Itunes, etc.
-Notepad
Lets Begin First you need to find the exact directory of your music file such as
c:\Documents and Settings\"YOUR ACCOUNT"\Desktop\"YOUR MUSIC FILE"
c:\Documents and Settings\GOD\Desktop\Stairway to heaven.mp3 <----- Right Click on File and Click Properties
___________________________________________________________
We need to open notepad because we need to make a batch file in order to run our music file.
Now most people have a basic computer set up with the C Drive as their default drive so if you open CMD
(start- run- type "cmd" without the quotes- click ok)you should see
C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe
However if you are like me and you have dual boot operating systems, you have your music on a different Partition or on an external harddrive you will need to change the directory of the CMD prompt to fit your needs.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
So Normal C Configuration
in Notepad type
cd C:\Documents and Settings\"YOUR ACCOUNT"\Desktop\ <---------------- This is the directory to your Music File
"YOUR MUSIC FILE.mp3,mp4,etc" <---------------- Music File in quotes with extension
Save as "Wake Up.bat" <---------------- Make sure to add the .bat extension
___________________________________________________________________
If you have a different partition or drive with the music on you need to change the directory as follows
in Notepad type
Drive letter + Colon ex. D: and click enter
cd Documents and Settings\"YOUR ACCOUNT"\Desktop\ <---------------- This is the directory to your Music File
Notice the drive letter is missing
"YOUR MUSIC FILE.mp3,mp4,etc" <---------------- Music File in quotes
Save as "Wake Up.bat" <---------------- Make sure to add the .bat extension
___________________________________________________________________
Now go to Start - Control Panel - Schedule Task - Add Schecule Task
Click Next and browse for your batch file that you saved and click ok
now choose your run option i pick daily but its up to you
choose your start time and/or start date click next
it should have your user name in so enter your password and then click next if you dont have a password just click next
Click finish
now if you get an error message stating 0x8007005 Access dont worry well cover it next
Now go to Start - Control Panel - Schedule Task now you should see your task Wake Up click on it
On the bottom of the check boxes you will see the "Run Only If Logged In" box is unchecked so check it and click ok now you should be good to go
